About the event
Living Democracy – Shaping It Together
In this three-day workshop, participants will develop and shoot an original short film of approximately three to six minutes, which will be screened at the RETURN International Film & Art Festival on 24 October 2026.
Beyond filmmaking, the workshop explores how democracy works in everyday life, how we form opinions and how media influence our perceptions. Participants will question information, discuss different perspectives and creatively explore issues that matter to them.
The film idea will be developed collectively. Everyone can contribute ideas, take part in discussions, make decisions and share responsibility putting democracy into practice through listening, mutual respect and collaboration.
With professional guidance from Raphael Köhler and the Nivre Filmstudio team, participants will gain practical experience in idea development, camera work, sound, acting, directing and editing.
